Pashiz (Bronze, 16 mm, 0.75 g, 6 h), Arab-Sasanian type, ST (Staxr/Istakhr), al-Muhallab ibn Abi Sufra, circa AH 75-79 / AD 694-698. Bearded and draped Byzantine-style bust facing. Rev. Bust of the goddess Anāhitā facing with nimbus of flames; to left, ‘ʾp̄zwn'’ (‘Increase’ in Pahlavi); to right, ST (abbreviation for the name of the mint in Pahlavi). Album 31E. Extremely rare. Patina stripped and rough, otherwise, good fine.
